NOTES

1. The calling service took place during vespers on Saturday, February 13, 2021, and the ordination took place during the Divine Liturgy, Sunday, February 14, the feast of the Entrance (Presentation) of the Lord into the Temple and the Eve of the Great Fast. The new priest received the name Garabed (
Կարապետ, Πρόδρομος, Forerunner), after St. John the Forerunner.

2. The forty-day isolation period coincided exactly with the Great Fast and took place in the Cathedral of St. Gregory Illuminator in New York. Toward the end of that period, on Saturday, March 20, the feast of the Entrance of St. Gregory into the Deep Pit, the new priest celebrated a Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral, under the auspices of Archbishop Anoushavan.

3. On Sunday March 21, the Sixth Sunday of the Great Fast (The Sunday of the Coming of the Lord), during the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Anoushavan installed the new priest at St. Stephen Church, New Britain, Hartford, CT.

4. On Sunday, March 28, Palm Sunday, the priest celebrated his first (official) Divine Liturgy (
Անդրանիկ Պատարագ) at St. Stephen Church, New Britain, Hartford, CT.

Thus says our Lord Jesus Christ: “No man can come to me, unless my heavenly Father draws him to me” (Jn 6:44); and “Him who comes to me, I will not cast out” (Jn 6:37). “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Mt 11:28-30).
